Web3 Security Checklist
1. Smart Contract Security
- Use mature libraries like OpenZeppelin to avoid reinventing the wheel
- Follow the Checks → Effects → Interactions pattern to prevent reentrancy attacks
- Use Solidity ≥ 0.8.x to avoid integer overflows
- Critical functions must implement access control (Ownable / AccessControl)
- Third-party security audits are mandatory before deployment
2. Private Key & Asset Security
- Never write private keys into code or commit them to Git
- Use multi-signature wallets (Safe) for administrative permissions
- Large assets are recommended to be stored in hardware wallets
3. Frontend & Interaction Security
- Clearly display transaction details to prevent users from signing mistakenly
- Verify contract addresses to avoid phishing sites
- RPC interfaces require rate limiting and authentication
4. Deployment & Operations
- Fully test on testnets before deploying to the mainnet
- Contract parameters should be immutable after initialization whenever possible
- Monitor abnormal transactions and contract events
5. Core Principles
In Web3:
Code is law, mistakes are irreversible. Security takes precedence over everything.
